Why did you decide to become a teacher? When I got in the field of education I realized how exciting it was to watch the children grow and develop over the course of one year. I also found fulfillment in knowing I planted a seed in their continuing education.
How would you describe your relationships with students? I work on having a close relationship with my students so they feel comfortable with me. Once I know the children in my class I can plan for their individual needs when I work with them.
How would you describe your teaching style? For my students I provide opportunities for them to explore and learn on their own, but I am also there to facilitate their learning. I work on being a reflective teacher and to keep my classroom rich with literacy, math, science, and art activities.
What’s the best thing about teaching at Endeavor? Having a family atmosphere and having support from co-workers who are on the same page as I am in their teaching technique.
What are your hobbies/passions? I like to camp, sew, crochet, and read.
What is your favorite quote? "Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression." -Dr. Haim Ginott
